Timothy Montague

Timothy “Stanker” Montague, 55, of Monroe passed away Wednesday, July 18, 2012 at the Henry Ford Hospital of Detroit after a brief illness.

Born August 5, 1955 in Monroe, Michigan , he was the 8th child of the late Lawrence and Anna Olivia Montague, Sr. He married Jeanette Freelon on May 19, 1984 in Las Vegas, Nevada. To this blessed union four beautiful children were born.

He graduated from Monroe High School in 1974. He was a devoted member of Local 671 Plumbers & Pipefitters where he worked as a master pipe fitter for 37 years. He had a great sense of humor and loved to keep those around him laughing.

Tim had a green thumb for gardening and loved to be with family and friends. He was a fantastic father and cherished his four beautiful children.

Left to mourn his passing is his former wife, Jeanette; one daughter, Marenna Nicole of Washington DC; three sons, Timothy Lathaniel of Monroe, Daniel Jacob of Brooklyn, New York and Garrett Matthew of Monroe; four brothers, Lawrence Jr., Ab (Jacquelyn), Larry and Fletcher, all of Monroe; two sisters, Priscilla M. Vinson of Monroe and Patricia (Henry) Wade of Inkster, Michigan, a very special lady, Lorretta Voss and a host of nieces , nephews and friends

He was preceded in death by his father in 1994, his mother in 2011, his brother, Benito in 2009 and his sister, Belinda Jean in 1987.

Visitation will be Wednesday, July 25, 2012 from 12:00pm - 8:00pm with Family Hour from 6:00pm- 8:00pm. Funeral services will be Thursday July 26, 2012 at 11:00am at Bennett Funeral Services, 14567 S. Dixie Hwy, Monroe, Michigan. The Rev. Joseph Witthorne of Cleveland, Ohio will officiate. Interment will be at Roselawn Memorial Park, 13200 S. Dixie Hwy, LaSalle, Michigan.
